Abstract
This study aims to analyze the extent to which the ten principles are applied to five language subjects in the Arabic Language Education Department at Institut Muslim Cendekia, as well as to identify the strengths and weaknesses in implementing these principles. This research belongs to qualitative research and employs a descriptive-analytical method in analyzing the data. The findings reveal that the ten principles are not merely limited to poetic verses or theoretical foundations, but rather represent a comprehensive intellectual framework that can be effectively used to evaluate the structure of contemporary university courses. The application of these ten principles to the five language subjects in the Arabic Language Education Department at Institut Muslim Cendekia indicates that the subjects do not comprehensively present all of the principles. Some subjects only discuss certain aspects, such as the definition of the discipline, its object of study, and its benefits, while other principles are absent. Therefore, in this study, Ash-Shabban’s ten principles are utilized as an analytical framework rather than an evaluative standard for the courses. The research does not aim to perfect or redesign the teaching materials, but rather to analyze the extent of the application of Ash-Shabban’s ten principles and the effects of their presence on the educational process.
