Abstract
Teaching vocabulary is the foundation of language instruction and one of the essential conditions for understanding the language’s meaning, whether for speaking or presenting it. It enables learners to use the language to comprehend Arabic texts. The book Iqtida’ al-Sirat al-Mustaqim by Ibn Taymiyyah is a rich source of technical (terminological) vocabulary that can be employed in teaching Arabic to beginners. This study aims to analyze the technical vocabulary found in the first volume of Iqtida’ al-Sirat al-Mustaqim li-Mukhalafat Ashab al-Jahim, specifically from topic one to topic eleven, to help beginners develop speaking skills, and to explore how to benefit from the vocabulary found in the book. The researcher used a descriptive-analytical method, consisting of three stages: the first stage was data collection, the second was data presentation, and the third was data analysis and drawing conclusions. The data collection method employed in this study was library research. This study concludes that vocabulary has multiple meanings and plays a significant role in Arabic language teaching. A total of fifty vocabulary terms were identified, their meanings explained and analyzed, and their benefits for teaching speaking skills assessed. These benefits include the use of dialogues, vocabulary exercises, and training activities—such as applying dialogues and role-plays, as well as creatively speaking and incorporating the new vocabulary into new dialogues.
