The Nominal Sentences in Surah al-Qasas (A Syntactic Analytical Study) الجملة الاسمية الواردة في سورة القصص
##plugins.themes.bootstrap3.article.main##
Abstract
This study aims to identify and analyze the nominal sentences (jumlah ismiyyah) found in Surah al-Qasas by examining Qur'anic verses in order to extract their various grammatical structures, thereby highlighting the richness of linguistic and syntactic features present in the surah. This is a qualitative study, which relies on the descriptive-analytical method to observe and analyze linguistic phenomena and determine the influencing factors. The method involves tracing, collecting, presenting, and analyzing the nominal sentences in Surah al-Qasas. The study found that there are fifteen (15) nominal sentences in Surah al-Qasas, composed of a subject (mubtada') and predicate (khabar), including those that are preceded by particles such as “inna” and its sisters (inna wa akhawātu-hā). Among them, eleven (11) are pure nominal sentences that feature a variety of subjects, either explicit nouns or pronouns, and predicates that appear as single words or full clauses. Meanwhile, four (4) of the nominal sentences are introduced by “inna and its sisters.” The prevailing pattern among the nominal sentences in Surah al-Qasas is the use of verbal clauses as predicates, occurring in ten of the eleven (11) analyzed sentences. Only one case involved a predicate in the form of a single word. As for the nominal sentences affected by “inna and its sisters,” they appeared in four (4) instances, all of which had verbal clauses as predicates.
