Abstract
This study is based on the importance of communication in shaping students’ disciplinary behavior, especially within the university dormitory environment, which is characterized by intensive daily interaction. The study aims to analyze the role of effective communication methods in enhancing disciplinary behavior among female students in the dormitory of Al-Rayah University. This research adopts a qualitative field approach using a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with ten (10) room leaders, in addition to direct observation, and were analyzed using descriptive qualitative analysis through data classification and interpretation. The findings reveal that direct (face-to-face) communication is the most effective method in guiding students and addressing violations, due to its clarity and immediate interaction. Persuasive communication, through both verbal approaches and behavioral role modeling, also contributes to developing self-awareness and strengthening discipline based on internal conviction. Meanwhile, group communication is used in certain situations, although it appears less effective in addressing individual behaviors. Disciplinary behavior is reflected in students’ adherence to time and participation in collective tasks. The effectiveness of communication is influenced by several factors, including message clarity, communication style, and the positive relationship between room leaders and members. These findings indicate that effective communication plays a significant role in fostering sustainable discipline within the university dormitory.
