Abstract
The selection of this topic is attributed to the significance of commitment to Sharia-compliant attire (libas shar'i) as a fundamental pillar of Islamic identity amidst contemporary challenges, and given the educational role played by the university dormitory at Institut Muslim Cendekia as an environment aimed at instilling this behavior as a sustainable habit. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the dress code systems applied in the dormitory in shaping female students' attitudes toward adhering to Sharia-compliant attire outside the academic scope. The researcher adopted a descriptive-analytical approach within a field research framework, utilizing data collection tools comprising observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The sample consisted of 175 female students drawn from the research population. The data were statistically analyzed using the SPSS software. The results of the analysis revealed a very high level of commitment among the students to wearing Sharia-compliant attire outside the dormitory, with a mean score of 4.12. However, the statistical analysis also revealed the absence of a statistically significant correlational relationship between the official regulations and this external commitment, where the correlation coefficient was (r = 0.036). Based on this, it can be concluded that the students' behavior has transitioned from a phase of external compliance with regulations to a phase of value internalization and self-adoption of identity. This reflects the success of the educational environment in transforming rules into deep-rooted convictions. The study recommends that educational institutions focus on strengthening religious conviction and cognitive awareness to ensure the construction of sustainable self-discipline in various spheres of life.
