Abstract
This study analyzes the da‘wah methodology of Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) and its influence on contemporary Islamic da‘wah. The study aims to identify the core characteristics of Ali’s da‘wah approach and examine its relevance in addressing current challenges faced by Islamic preaching in the digital era. The research adopts a qualitative library research approach using classical Islamic literature, books on da‘wah methodology, historical sources, and contemporary studies on digital Islamic communication. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive-analytical and content analysis methods. The findings reveal that Ali ibn Abi Talib’s da‘wah methodology was characterized by wisdom, moderation, intellectual argumentation, justice, moral leadership, and constructive dialogue. His da‘wah approach emphasized ethical communication and social reform through knowledge and exemplary conduct. The study further demonstrates that these principles remain highly relevant for contemporary Islamic da‘wah, particularly in responding to extremism, misinformation, hate speech, and communication crises in digital media. Therefore, the da‘wah methodology of Ali ibn Abi Talib can serve as a foundational framework for developing balanced, ethical, and contextual Islamic preaching in modern society.
