Abstract

This study aims to identify the supporting factors for the application of Arabic grammatical rules in writing administrative reports among female students at Institut Muslim Cendekia. The researcher chose this topic because of its academic and practical importance, as it was observed that some students still need improvement in applying grammatical rules when writing administrative reports despite having studied them in their courses. The study employed a qualitative method with a descriptive-analytical approach by analyzing samples of administrative reports written by the heads of the female students’ departments at Arrayah University during the 2025–2026 academic year questionnaire and indirect interview. The findings revealed that the level of grammatical rule application varied among students; however, most students were able to apply several basic grammatical rules satisfactorily, such as correct linguistic structures, proper use of nominal and verbal sentences, correct use of iḍāfah constructions, gender agreement, sentence element concordance, and proper inflection of dual and plural forms. The study also found that the application of grammatical rules is influenced by several supporting factors, namely academic, personal, environmental, psychological, and linguistic factors, which collectively support the students’ administrative writing skills. The study concludes that improving the application of grammatical rules requires the integration of theoretical learning, continuous practice, a supportive language environment, and ongoing linguistic guidance to develop Arabic administrative writing skills among female students at Institut Muslim Cendekia.
