Abstract
The educational book, especially in learning a second language, assists students in grasping the required skills, as it serves as the medium through which these skills are conveyed. The educational book designed for Arabs differs from those intended for non-Arabs, which necessitates its composition based on a solid criterion. This study aimed to determine the appropriateness of the reading texts in durus al lughoh al arabiyah book, Part One, by Imam Zarkashi and Imam Shabani, in relation to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages at levels A1 and A2. The researcher employed a descriptive-analytical research methodology, and the data collection method used in this study was library research. The results indicate that 83.3% of the texts align with level A1, while 16.7% correspond to level A2. This suggests that 83.3% of the texts in this book are easy, introducing self-descriptions and places, along with situational descriptions. The grammatical structures utilized are simple enough for everyday communication among students. Conversely, the remaining 16.7% feature more advanced vocabulary, and the topics of these texts revolve around daily life. This percentage indicates a balanced distribution of level objectives. It presents appropriate texts for the targeted level, as well as linguistic structures and complex grammar for teaching and learning Arabic for beginner-level students.
