Abstract
Vocabulary instruction is considered a crucial element in language development, requiring appropriate methods to ensure vocabulary is effectively conveyed to students. Ma’had Al-Tarbiyah is an educational institution specializing in teaching Arabic to non-native speakers, where students use Arabic in daily communication. Therefore, this study aims to identify the methods used by teachers in teaching Arabic vocabulary to develop students’ speaking skills at the secondary education level at Ma’had Al-Tarbiyah Sukabumi, as well as the factors that contribute to the success of these methods. This study employs a descriptive-analytical approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. For data analysis, the study applies the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study show that the method used in teaching Arabic vocabulary at Ma’had Al-Tarbiyah Sukabumi is the Tariqat al-Mubāshirah (Direct Method). The factors that support the success of this method include: (1) appropriate teaching methods, (2) availability of learning media, (3) a supportive language environment, (4) a clear vision and mission, (5) teacher quality, (6) a curriculum aligned with learning objectives, (7) student motivation, (8) effective institutional regulations, and (9) the inclusion of the at-Ta‘bīr ash-Shafahī.
