Abstract

Reading skill is a fundamental component of language learning and a key to academic progress. UNESCO reports indicate a low reading interest among Indonesians, prompting the Ministry of Education and Culture to launch the School Literacy Movement. Ar Raayah Islamic Elementary School implemented the Arabic Literacy Eradication Program in response. This research explores the program’s implementation and its role in enhancing students understanding of Arabic expressions. This is a descriptive-analytical study using observation, interviews, and questionnaires, with data analyzed through simple linear regression using MS Excel Data Analysis. The program was implemented in three phases: planning (setting general and specific goals), implementation (monthly “Language Week” using selective methods to build vocabulary, expressions, and dialogues), and evaluation (direct observation and performance assessment). The regression equation result is y’ = 3.46 + 0.72X. The correlation coefficient is 0.80, indicating a powerful relationship. It shows that the program has a significant and measurable impact on students' comprehension of Arabic expressions.
