Abstract
This study explores the characteristics of the da'wah communication model implemented by Buya Hamka, as described in the book "Buya Hamka" by Ahmad Fu'adi. The primary objective of this research is to analyze the communication strategies employed by Hamka in conveying Islamic teachings and to assess their effectiveness in disseminating religious values in the modern era. The research highlights the significance of da'wah in Islam as a fundamental mission of the prophets and emphasizes the contemporary need for preachers who are not only well-versed in Islamic knowledge but also possess strong communication skills to address various ideological and behavioral deviations prevalent in society. This study adopts a qualitative descriptive approach, relying primarily on library research. The analysis reveals that Buya Hamka utilized a variety of approaches in his da'wah activities, including preaching with wisdom and good counsel, integrating intellectual thought with religious propagation, utilizing mass media, responding to social issues, emphasizing education and human development, and engaging in institutional da'wah work. The findings conclude that Buya Hamka’s da'wah communication model is balanced and effective, as it combines traditional values with modern approaches. This model offers a relevant vision of da'wah that aligns with contemporary demands and challenges, making it a valuable subject for further study and a model to emulate in current da'wah practices.
