Abstract

The emergence of linguistic errors in students’ scientific papers led the researcher to find the mistakes and their causes. This study aimed to identify and describe the most common grammatical mistakes among female Arabic Language Education Department students at STIBA Ar Raayah Sukabumi in 2023 and explain their causes. Using a qualitative descriptive-analytical method with the Miles and Huberman design, the researcher collected and analyzed detailed data on error patterns and causes. Common grammatical errors included incorrect prepositions, verb-subject disagreement, number disagreement, and poor word order. Causes were linked to internal factors like weak language foundation, limited practice, reliance on literal translation, and lack of text review, as well as external factors such as overreliance on technology and weak academic supervision. These results serve as an important basis for improving the language skills and quality of scientific research of the female students.
