Abstract
This study aimed to identify the challenges of using Google Meet in teaching the Dialects course among fifth-level female students at STIBA ARRAAYAH, Sukabumi. This is a qualitative study that followed the descriptive-analytical approach by analyzing and accurately describing the challenges of using Google Meet, and by collecting data related to the study through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The results of the study revealed the following challenges in using Google Meet for teaching the Dialects course: (1) Delayed entry into the virtual classroom due to weak internet connection, (2) Poor audio quality caused by unstable internet, (3) Difficulty in transitioning between PowerPoint slides because of network issues, (4) Inability to assess the students’ participation during the lesson, whether they are actively engaged or not, (5) Difficulty in student participation due to lack of communication tools such as microphones, speakers, and other equipment, often linked to poor connectivity, (6)The absence of the teacher in live sessions leads to student laziness and, in some cases, even sleeping during the lesson.
