Abstract

Linguistic problems have emerged among fourth grade students at Kyai Haji Ahmad Dahlan Boarding School in Taluk Kuantan, such as limited vocabulary and lack of self-confidence in speaking. This study aims to identify the problems in learning Arabic among fourth grade students at Kyai Haji Ahmad Dahlan Boarding School, and to find appropriate solutions to address these issues. The researcher used a descriptive-analytical method. The results of this study are: 1) The problems in learning Arabic among fourth grade students at Kyai Haji Ahmad Dahlan Boarding School in Taluk Kuantan are divided into two categories: a) Linguistic problems; 1) phonetic problems, 2) writing problems, 3) grammatical problems. b) Non-linguistic problems; 1) lack of Arabic materials and lesson hours, 2) limited opportunities to practice speaking in and outside the classroom, 3) absence of an Arabic-speaking environment. The proposed solutions to the problems of learning Arabic for fourth grade students at Kyai Haji Ahmad Dahlan Boarding School in Taluk Kuantan are also divided into two parts: a) For linguistic problems; 1) providing phonetic lessons, 2) regular oral reading, 3) diversifying expression methods. b) For non-linguistic problems; 1) increasing Arabic language materials, 2) implementing teaching processes in Arabic, 3) organizing programs or competitions.
