Abstract

The methods of vocabulary teaching vary from one place to another. Therefore, the researcher aims to identify the vocabulary teaching methods used at the Baitul Qur’an Abna’ul Ummah Institute. This study seeks to understand the methods implemented at the institute and how they contribute to developing the speaking skills of senior high school students through vocabulary teaching. The researcher employed a descriptive-analytical method in conducting this study, utilizing observation, interviews, and documentation within the Baitul Qur’an Abna’ul Ummah Institute to collect and analyze data. The research results are: 1) The methods used to teach vocabulary at the Beit Al-Quran Sons of the Nation Institute are as follows: a) The direct method. b) The contextual method. c) The vocabulary memorization method. d) The translation method. 2) The development of speaking skills among students at the Beit Al-Quran Sons of the Nation Institute in secondary school is an emerging aspect of teaching Arabic to non-native speakers at the first level (beginner). Learners pronounce adjacent and similar sounds, differentiate between short and long vowels in pronunciation, acquire a vocabulary appropriate to their age, and express themselves clearly and understandably in simple conversational situations. They expand their ability to adapt to life situations and are able to engage in all forms of linguistic activity, such as questioning and answering, delivering speeches, and managing dialogue.
