Abstract
This research aims to determine the role of speech delivery activities in developing speaking skills among students of the one-year intensive teacher preparation program, fifth cohort, at Darul Lughah Al Arabiyyah. The researcher chose this topic due to the importance of speaking skills in teaching the Arabic language, as well as the impact of speech delivery activities in training students to speak Arabic in front of an audience. The researcher employed a descriptive analytical method, as it is suitable for describing and analyzing the phenomenon. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study showed that speech delivery activities contribute to developing linguistic fluency, improving oral expression skills, and enhancing students’ self-confidence and courage in facing audiences. The activity also helps enrich Arabic vocabulary and develop the four language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing, through written speech preparation and continuous practice of speech delivery within the language environment. The study concluded that speech delivery activities are considered an effective educational method in developing speaking skills and students’ linguistic competence in a practical and applicable manner.
