Abstract
This research was conducted in response to a problem faced by some female students at Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Bahasa Arab (STIBA) Ar Raayah Sukabumi, namely a weak understanding of the meanings of vocabulary in Arabic texts. This issue led them to use the Al-Ma’any electronic dictionary as an aid to understand difficult words. The aim of this study is to explain the role of the Al-Ma’any electronic dictionary in enhancing Arabic reading skills among female students at Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Bahasa Arab (STIBA) Ar Raayah Sukabumi. This study is quantitative in nature and applies a descriptive approach. Data were collected through library research, observation, and questionnaires. The results showed that the dictionary played a significant role in improving reading skills; the highest indicator, related to accurately understanding vocabulary meanings, reached 86.15% (rating: excellent), while the lowest indicator, related to understanding the main idea in texts, reached 67.69% (rating: very good). The overall evaluation percentage was 79.11%, which falls under the “very good” category. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the use of the Al-Ma’any electronic dictionary contributes effectively to improving Arabic reading skills among female students at Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Bahasa Arab (STIBA) Ar Raayah Sukabumi.
