Abstract

This study examines the role of artificial intelligence in teaching the Arabic language, with a particular focus on developing speaking skills among beginner students who are non-native speakers of Arabic. The importance of learning Arabic stems from its status as the language of the Holy Qur’an and the Prophetic Sunnah, and as a means of accurately understanding religious and cultural texts. Speaking skill is considered a central component of language learning, as it represents the practical application of other language skills and reflects the learner’s ability to communicate effectively in real contexts. Modern technologies, especially artificial intelligence, have contributed to providing interactive learning environments that simulate real linguistic situations and allow continuous practice with immediate feedback. The “cici” application (Ciciai.com) is regarded as one of the prominent intelligent educational applications that rely on voice-based interaction and instant pronunciation correction. The application offers flexible self-directed learning that enhances fluency, improves linguistic accuracy, and increases learners’ confidence in speaking Arabic. Studies have shown that using the application contributes to improving pronunciation, expanding vocabulary, and enhancing oral expression in various contexts. It also provides a safe learning environment free from fear of social evaluation, which boosts learners’ motivation. Despite these advantages, the application faces some challenges, such as weak internet connectivity and limited ability to recognize different dialects. The study emphasizes that integrating the application with pedagogical supervision leads to better learning outcomes. The study concludes that the “cici” application represents an effective and innovative tool for developing speaking skills among non-native Arabic learners when used with sound pedagogical guidance.
