Abstract
Arabic and English are two highly important languages, especially in many educational institutions in Indonesia, such as Miftahul Huda Institute, which specifically focuses on teaching both of these languages to students. The aim of this study is to explore the effect of code-switching between Arabic and English on the development of Arabic speaking skills among students of the Islamic Education Institute Miftahul Huda in Bogor. The importance of this topic lies in the nature of the educational environment at the institute, which employs a bilingual system, making it necessary for students to use both languages regularly in various situations. This study is a field research using a quantitative approach, in which the researcher employed data collection tools, including data analysis through the Microsoft Data Analysis feature. The result derived from the regression equation of the effect of language switching on the development of Arabic speaking skills is represented by the equation Ŷ = 4.01 + 0.76X, indicating a positive relationship between variable X and Ŷ. The figure 4.01 is the constant or starting point, meaning that when the value of X is zero, the expected value of Ŷ is 4.01. The regression coefficient of 0.76 indicates that for every one-unit increase in X, the value of Ŷ increases by 0.76. Hence, an increase in X leads to an increase in Ŷ, suggesting that variable X has a positive effect on variable Ŷ in this statistical model. A questionnaire was used and distributed to a sample of 47 students, where such factors may play a role in shaping respondents' views on the topic. Most participants were male students, totaling 27, while female respondents were 20 in number.
