Abstract
Some language learners at STIBA Ar-Raayah campus face difficulties in essay writing due to various factors, while others do not experience significant writing difficulties. This research aims to find solutions to address the technical writing challenges faced by those who need them and to enhance the creative abilities of those who already possess a foundation. It also aims to compare mind mapping and image-based methods in activating written expression skills. The research employed a descriptive-comparative approach with a qualitative component. The sample consisted of 20 students divided into two experimental groups. The researcher used two main tools for data collection and analysis: a written test and a closed questionnaire. The research demonstrated the effectiveness of using mind mapping and imagery in enhancing written expression skills in Arabic language teaching, with mind mapping proving superior to imagery. The mind map group outperformed the imagery group in 5 out of 7 evaluative aspects, equaled in one, while the imagery group excelled in one other. The questionnaire demonstrated a positive impact on students when writing using mind maps and images. Mind mapping outperformed imagery in 10 items, equaled in 3, and imagery did not outperform in any.
