Using Blooket for Non-Test Assessment of Arabic Vocabulary: A Qualitative Case Study at Fitrah Islamic World Academy تقييم المفردات العربية باستخدام منصة بلوكيت (Blooket) لدى المبتدئات: دراسة الحالة بمعهد الفطرة العالمي الإسلامي

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the use of the Blooket platform as a technological tool for non-test educational assessment in Arabic vocabulary learning, in line with contemporary perspectives that view assessment as a process that supports learning. The study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive–analytical case study design conducted at Ma’had Fitrah Islamic World Academy, Bogor. Data were collected through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews, and analysis of digital assessment reports generated by the platform. The findings indicate that Blooket provides an interactive, gamified assessment environment that supports formative assessment through immediate feedback, enhances learner engagement, and enables continuous monitoring of vocabulary acquisition, thereby reducing assessment anxiety, particularly in the early stages of Arabic language learning. However, the study also reveals limitations in the platform’s ability to offer in-depth qualitative analysis of linguistic errors and to assess complex productive language skills. The study concludes that Blooket serves as an effective supplementary tool for non-test assessment when integrated into a comprehensive assessment framework.
