Abstract

Writing skills are one of the most important skills for students, beginning with drawing letters, words, or sentences, and culminating in the ability to express oneself. The teaching of writing skills aims to enable students to write letters correctly according to spelling rules and to allow them to express their thoughts in writing. Learning media play a role in this process as they serve as tools to convey information to students. With these media, teachers strive to vary their teaching methods when instructing writing skills. In this research, the researcher employed a qualitative descriptive approach to examine how the picture-clipping method was applied to seventh-grade female students at the Surga Women’s Institute. The process of implementing this method is as follows: the teacher prepares the text and writes sentences from the preceding paragraph separately or in fragments; each piece of paper must consist of a single sentence. The teacher divides the students into groups; the teacher explains the meanings of the words in the paragraph first to ensure the meaning is clear and understood; the teacher distributes the paper fragments to each group member; students memorize the distributed sentences for five minutes; after memorizing the sentences given to them, they must arrange the paper fragments so that the sentences are meaningful and complete; then, after
