The Da‘wah Role of Dormitory Supervisors at Hidayatullah Islamic Boarding School, Depok

Abstract
This study aims to examine the da‘wah role of dormitory supervisors at Hidayatullah Islamic Boarding School Depok and its influence on enhancing students’ religious commitment within the dormitory environment. The researcher employed a descriptive-analytical and field research method using a qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation related to educational and da‘wah activities within the dormitory. The data were then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data collection, data display, and conclusion drawing.The findings reveal that dormitory supervisors play an important da‘wah and educational role in developing students’ religious commitment through good role models, guidance and counseling, and continuous educational supervision. The results also show that the supervisors’ consistency in performing acts of worship and religious activities encourages students to maintain their worship practices and discipline in Islamic behavior within the dormitory environment. In addition, guidance sessions, advice, and daily supervision help create a positive educational and spiritual atmosphere that supports the development of students’ religious character and morals. This study confirms that the da‘wah role of dormitory supervisors is an essential element in the success of Islamic education within institutions implementing a boarding system.
