Abstract
Arabic as a sacred language occupies a central position in religious education across Indonesian Islamic institutions. However, the prevailing emphasis on grammatical structures has often marginalized the acquisition of legal terminological vocabulary (al-mufradat al-ishtilahiyyah al-shar'iyyah), which constitutes a crucial foundation for precise comprehension and meaningful use of Islamic texts. This study aims to extract and analyse legal terminological vocabulary from the first twelve hadiths of Al-Arba'in Al-Nawawiya, and to propose practical mechanisms for its application in Arabic language instruction. Employing a qualitative library research approach with Al-Arba'in Al-Nawawiya as the primary data source, and the Miles and Huberman data-analysis model, the study identified 41 legal terminological items spanning themes of worship, belief, ethics, and jurisprudence. The findings affirm that Al-Arba'in Al-Nawawiya constitutes a rich and authentically grounded resource for enriching Arabic learners' terminological and communicative competence.
