Abstract

Linguistic appreciation is considered one of the important skills in developing language sensitivity and understanding the aesthetics of the Arabic language. Universitas Ar-Rayah has paid attention to developing this skill among female students through teaching Ma‘ani as one of the branches of Arabic rhetoric. This study aims to determine the extent of the influence of Ma‘ani science on developing linguistic appreciation among third-level female students in the Arabic Language Education Department at Ar-Rayah University. This research is a field study using a quantitative approach. The methods used by the researcher in collecting data were observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The data analysis in this study employed the Ms. Excel Analysis Data Feature through simple linear regression analysis (Analisis Regresi Linear Sederhana). The research sample was randomly selected and consisted of 78 female students. The study found that Ma‘ani science has a positive and significant influence on developing students’ linguistic appreciation. This is shown in the regression equation Y = 0.477X + 9.983, which indicates that every one-unit increase in Ma‘ani science leads to an increase of 0.477 in linguistic appreciation. This demonstrates the magnitude of the influence of the independent variable on the dependent variable.
