Abstract
This study aims to describe the implementation of corrective feedback in teaching speaking skills and to examine its relationship with the level of mother tongue interference among female students of the Language Preparation Program at Institute Muslim Cendekia (IMC). The study was motivated by the frequent linguistic errors caused by Indonesian language interference in Arabic-speaking, especially among beginner learners. This research employed a quantitative correlational approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, questionnaires, and documentation. The sample consisted of 95 students selected through total sampling. Data analysis was conducted using IBM SPSS Statistics 24 through validity, reliability, normality, linearity, and Pearson correlation tests. The findings revealed that the teacher employed various corrective feedback strategies, including direct oral, indirect, and written correction, while taking into account students’ psychological conditions and individual differences. The study also found a strong positive correlation between corrective feedback and the level of mother tongue interference in speaking skills, with a Pearson correlation coefficient of 0.604 at a significance level of 0.000. This result indicates that corrective feedback is associated with improved oral performance and a reduction in language errors resulting from the influence of the mother tongue.
