Abstract
This study was motivated by the phenomenon of linguistic interference in Arabic language learning that frequently appears in students’ daily conversations. The study aimed to identify the types of linguistic interference and measure their level of occurrence among female students in the Language Preparation Program (I’dad Lughawy) of the 2025/2026 academic year at Muslim Cendekia Institute. This research employed a descriptive quantitative approach using observation and questionnaires as data collection techniques. The data were obtained through observations of the students’ daily conversations and supported by questionnaire results to obtain more accurate data. The data were analyzed using percentage techniques to determine the level of linguistic interference occurrence. The findings showed that linguistic interference appeared in five forms: phonological, morphological, syntactic, lexical, and semantic interference. The overall level of linguistic interference was categorized as moderate, with a percentage of 54.98%. These results indicate that the mother tongue still influences the use of Arabic in daily communication. Therefore, linguistic interference remains a real phenomenon in Arabic language learning and requires attention in the language learning process.
