Abstract

This study is motivated by the low level of vocabulary mastery among beginner learners in Arabic language learning through distance learning systems. Therefore, the implementation of appropriate vocabulary teaching strategies is needed to enhance the effectiveness of online learning for beginners. This study aims to explore and describe the vocabulary teaching strategies employed at Al-Fahmu Learning Center in the context of online learning. . as well as identifying the challenges faced by teachers in teaching vocabulary through distance learning and exploring the proposed solutions to overcome those challenges. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical method. The data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data collection, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that the strategies implemented include the use of pictures, interactive videos, electronic evaluation, the audiolingual approach, electronic dictionaries, kinesthetic representation, and the integration of new knowledge with students’ prior knowledge. The main challenges in distance learning include low student interaction, poor internet connectivity, an unsupportive home learning environment, difficulties in managing online classrooms, and low learner motivation and discipline. To address these challenges, several educational solutions were implemented, including the use of interactive teaching methods based on discussions, images, and videos, the preparation of learning plans that encourage student participation, the provision of adequate technological infrastructure and internet access, the recording of lessons for later review, the creation of a supportive home learning environment, parental involvement in supervision, and the implementation of reward and punishment systems to improve students’ discipline and attendance.
