Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using image media in the Arabic vocabulary delivery activity Ilqa’ al-Mufrodat Division at STIBA Ar-Rayah University to facilitate students’ vocabulary comprehension. The research is motivated by the fact that some students find it difficult to understand vocabulary presented through conventional methods, which leads to reduced participation in such activities. This study employed a descriptive qualitative method, using interviews with seven students and questionnaires distributed to fourteen respondents as data collection techniques. The findings reveal that most students find images helpful in better understanding word meanings, recalling vocabulary faster, and applying words in sentences. They also show more active and enthusiastic responses when vocabulary is presented visually rather than through mere verbal explanation. Image clarity, contextual appropriateness, and relevance to daily life are identified as key supporting factors in the media's effectiveness. In conclusion, the use of image media is an effective strategy to enhance students’ comprehension and engagement in Arabic vocabulary learning. It is recommended that this media continue to be developed in non-formal learning activities, with an emphasis on using appropriate and engaging visual content.
