The Process of Teaching Naskh Script Using the Letter Segmentation Method عملية تعليم خط النسخ بطريقة تجزئة الحرف

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of Arabic calligraphy learning, especially Naskh script, in improving writing skills and preserving the beauty of Arabic writing. One of the methods used in teaching calligraphy is the letter segmentation method, which teaches letters by dividing them into smaller parts to make them easier for learners to understand. This study aims to describe the process of teaching Naskh script using the letter segmentation method at Ar-Rayah University for Women. The research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical method. Data were collected through direct interviews with the Arabic calligraphy teacher and analyzed by organizing and interpreting the data based on the main research themes. The findings showed that the learning process was carried out through clear instructional objectives, the use of letter segmentation and imitation methods, as well as continuous practice and feedback. This method helped students understand the structure of letters gradually and improve the accuracy of their writing. The study concludes that the letter segmentation method is effective in teaching Naskh script because it facilitates the learning process and enhances students’ writing skills.
