Abstract

Language enrichment activities are considered as one of the important supportive tools in learning Arabic language education, particularly in helping female students to acquire speaking skills. One of the institutions implementing this activity is At-Tarbiyah Islamic Boarding School For Girls, which has incorporated it as a supplementary activity to support the process of developing speaking skills among its students. This study aims to examine the role of language enrichment activities in students’ acquisition for speaking skills and to demonstrate their contribution to improving students’ ability to speak with confidence and fluency. The researcher employed a qualitative approach using a descriptive-analytical methodology based on the Miles and Huberman model, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documents. The research findings revealed that language enrichment activities had contributed to build a language-rich environment, to foster active participation, to enrich vocabulary, to boost self-confidence, and to correct linguistic errors in real time. It also demonstrated that the language programs included in the model—such as vocabulary recitation, sentence formation, dictation, Arabic stories, public speaking, and viewing—had helped students to practise Arabic in a practical and continuous manner across various situations. Therefore, the researcher concluded that language reinforcement activities played an important role as an effective means of supporting the process of acquiring and gradually developing speaking skills.
