Abstract
This research examines the phenomenon of Indonesian language interference in the oral expression of students at Muslim Cendekia Institute, Sukabumi, aiming to identify the manifestations of this influence, its underlying causes, and proposed pedagogical solutions for its mitigation. Employing a descriptive-analytical methodology, the researcher utilized observation, interviews, and documentary analysis as data collection instruments, subsequently categorizing the findings according to the Miles and Huberman framework. The research results reveal that the picture of linguistic interference is divided into three linguistic levels: phonetic interference through the mispronunciation of specific Arabic sounds, syntactic interference manifested in the transfer of Indonesian grammatical structures and word order, and lexical interference involving the use of literal translations from the mother tongue. These occurrences are attributed to linguistic factors, such as thinking in the native language and literal translation, as well as environmental factors like insufficient daily practice. To address this phenomenon, the study recommends intensifying independent reading to enhance vocabulary, activating interactive activities such as drama and public speaking, and strengthening the campus linguistic environment through engagement with proficient speakers, alongside continuous evaluation of common errors to ensure the integrity of oral expression.
