Abstract

design an exercise booklet accompanying the book Sharḥ Naẓm Muthallath Quṭrub and to determine its validity for second-level students at Ar-Rayah University. The study was motivated by students’ difficulties in understanding triangular vocabulary (muthallath) and distinguishing its meanings according to vowel changes, as well as the absence of a specialized exercise booklet supporting the material. This research employed the Research and Development (R&D) method based on the Borg and Gall model with a quantitative approach. Data were collected through interviews, questionnaires, library research, and documentation. The exercise booklet was designed based on needs analysis and included various exercises aimed at improving language comprehension and practical vocabulary application. The findings showed that the booklet achieved a very high validity level, obtaining 92.5% from the language expert, 90% from the content expert, and exercise booklet, Muthallath Qutrub, Arabic language learning, triangular vocabulary, research and development 85% from the design expert. The booklet also helped students better understand triangular vocabulary and distinguish between its meanings. The study indicates the importance of developing instructional materials based on needs analysis to improve the quality of Arabic language learning for non-native speakers.
