Abstract
The selection of this topic is based on the importance of improving speaking skills among first-level female students, while observing the persistence of linguistic errors in their daily use of the Arabic language. This study aims to investigate the effect percentage of the “Language Error Log” program on improving the speaking skills of the students. The researcher employed a quantitative approach within the framework of field research and used observation, interviews, and questionnaires as data collection instruments. The sample consisted of 111 female students from the research population. Data were analyzed using SPSS 24.0 and Microsoft Excel through simple linear regression analysis. The results showed that the regression equation was (Y = 11.21 + 0.39X), indicating a positive effect of the program on improving speaking skills. The correlation coefficient (r) was 0.410, which indicates a positive relationship between the two variables, while the coefficient of determination (R²) was 0.168, meaning that the program explains 16.8% of the variance in speaking skills, whereas the remaining percentage is attributed to other factors outside the scope of this study. Therefore, it can be concluded that the “Language Error Log” program contributes to improving students’ speaking skills, although its effect remains limited compared to other factors.
