Abstract

This study aims to identify da'wah messages derived from the Prophet Muhammad's (peace be upon him) interaction with youth, and to examine their relevance in guiding contemporary youth. The research is motivated by the observation that modern youth face various intellectual, moral, and behavioral challenges due to rapid social and technological changes, the weakening of educational role models, and the pervasive influence of digital media. Statistical data from UNICEF Indonesia (2024) indicate that approximately 2% of Indonesian youth aged 15–24 suffer from depression, the highest rate among all age groups, underscoring the urgency of effective educational approaches. Employing a qualitative descriptive-analytical method through library research, data were gathered from the Qur'an, Prophetic Hadith, classical commentaries, and relevant literature in Islamic da'wah and education. The findings indicate that the Prophet's methodology in engaging with youth was characterized by compassion, dialogue, gradual guidance, careful consideration of individual differences, and empowerment through responsibility. These five prophetic da'wah principles remain highly relevant for addressing contemporary youth challenges, including the crisis of role models and excessive screen time, and contribute to developing a generation that embodies Islamic values while responding effectively to modern realities.
