Abstract
Self-confidence is a fundamental factor in language learning, particularly in speaking skills, as it directly influences an individual's performance and achievement in both educational and social domains. This study aims to examine the relationship between self-confidence and the level of oral performance among female students of the i'dad program at Ar-Raayah University. This study employs a quantitative approach with a correlational design. Data were collected through interviews, observation, questionnaires, and documentation. The research population comprised all female students enrolled in the language preparatory program for the academic year 2025/2026, with a total sampling technique applied. Data analysis was conducted using Pearson's Product Moment Correlation method. The results revealed a significant relationship between self-confidence and speaking skills among the students, with self-confidence contributing 41.47% to the improvement of speaking performance. The correlation coefficient value of 0.644 falls within the range of (0.61–0.80), indicating a strong correlation. The statistical significance value (Sig. 0.000) was less than (0.05), and the r-table value (0.194) was lower than the r-count value (0.644), confirming the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (H1) and the rejection of the null hypothesis (H0).
