Abstract

This research aims to study the methods of interpersonal dawah communication among young climbers of Mount Ciremai and to illustrate how Islamic dawah is practiced through direct interaction in open natural environments. The study stems from observing social and cultural shifts among the youth and the declining effectiveness of certain traditional dawah methods in reaching them. This highlights the importance of interpersonal communication as a more intimate and influential means of building religious awareness and enhancing religiosity. The researcher adopted a qualitative field methodology with a descriptive-analytical approach, utilizing observation, interviews, and documentation. The goal was to describe the reality of interpersonal dawah communication practiced by preachers with young people during climbing activities on Mount Ciremai. The study concluded that the methods of interpersonal dawah communication among young climbers are characterized by dialogue, spontaneity, empathy, and flexibility, in addition to relying on role modeling and direct emotional interaction. Furthermore, the results showed that the open natural environment contributes to creating a spiritual atmosphere that helps in the acceptance of dawah messages more deeply and effectively. Direct communication based on companionship and emotional participation makes the youth more open to religious values.
