Abstract

Vocabulary is one of the essential components of a language, and language itself is composed of vocabulary and words. It is a key factor in the success of Arabic language learners who are non-native speakers, especially in speaking skills. However, the multiplicity of meanings of vocabulary can confuse learners in using those words correctly. This study aims to explore the meanings of vocabulary from the book Al-Arba'īn Al-Nawawiyyah as intended in the Hadiths, and how these can be utilized to enhance the speaking skills of non-Arabic speakers. The researcher employed a descriptive-analytical method in this study, as it is suitable for achieving the intended results and understanding the benefits of the unfamiliar vocabulary (gharīb al-ḥadīth) from Al-Arba'īn Al-Nawawiyyah by describing phenomena, events, or specific objects through collecting related data and observations. The study confirmed the existence of 31 vocabulary items in Al-Arba'īn Al-Nawawiyyah and identified proposed ways of utilizing these items, which include: the use of a glossary of unfamiliar Hadith terms and dialogue.
