Abstract
Mursal simile is one of the most frequently used rhetorical devices in modern Arabic literature, yet its study in Palestinian resistance novels remains limited. This study aims to analyze mursal similes in the novel "Asy-Syauku wal Qurunful" by Yahya Sinwar, focusing on their types and rhetorical purposes. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical method. The primary data source is the novel "Asy-Syauku wal Qurunful" by Yahya Sinwar, while secondary data sources include Arabic rhetoric books and previous relevant studies. Data collection techniques were carried out through reading, note-taking, and extracting similes from the novel. The results showed that in the 15 chapters of the novel, 45 mursal similes were found, consisting of 8 mursal mufashshal similes (18%) and 37 mursal mujmal similes (82%). The rhetorical purposes of these similes include explaining the state of musyabbah, clarifying its condition, and depicting abstract meanings. The novelty of this research lies in its object of study, namely the novel "Asy-Syauku wal Qurunful" by Yahya Sinwar, which has never been analyzed from the perspective of mursal simile. The implication of this research is that the results can be used as teaching materials for Arabic rhetoric learning.
