Abstract

Arabic has spread and is taught in various countries, especially in Indonesia. This language receives special attention from students of Islamic sciences because it is the language used in the Qur'an and the Hadiths conveyed by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to his companions. The Arabic language consists of three main elements, often referred to as "language components," namely: sounds (phonology), vocabulary (lexicon), and structure/grammar (syntax). These components form the core material that helps learners master language skills. Those who do not master them will find it difficult to attain proficiency at various levels of language ability. Based on the importance of this matter, the researcher chose the title: An Analysis of Nahwu Structural Errors Among Seventh Grade-A Students of Ma'had Al-Yusro Through Exercises in the Book Al-‘Arabiyyah Bayna Yadayk Student’s Book 1, Part 1– A Case Study. This research aims to achieve two main objectives: First, To analyze structural grammar (nahwu) errors made by the seventh grade-A students through the exercises in Al-‘Arabiyyah Bayna Yadayk Student’s Book 1, Part 1. Second, To offer effective solutions or strategies to address these errors. This research is qualitative in nature, using a descriptive-analytical approach as the main method for data analysis. The research findings are as follows: First, various structural grammar (nahwu) errors were found among the students of Ma’had Al-Yusra, Grade VII-A. These errors are mostly caused by: Lack of understanding of grammatical rules, Incomplete application of rules, Incorrect assumptions, Carelessness and lack of attention, Copying without comprehension. Second, the proposed solutions to overcome these errors include: Reading aloud, Using dictionaries and linguistic encyclopedias, Practicing regularly on a daily basis, Actively interacting with teachers and peers, Repeating and reinforcing the material consistently.
