Abstract

The skill of writing is one of the positive or creative skills and a stable tool for expressing ideas, ensuring their survival and not disappearing. This research aimed to identify the linguistic errors found in the written expression workbooks of language preparation students at STIBA Arraayah, find out the causes of these errors, and then propose appropriate solutions to address them. This research used the descriptive-analytic method and interviewed 25 female students from the Language Preparation Department to collect the necessary data about language errors. The results of the study showed that errors are divided into four main types, namely: Grammatical errors, morphological errors, spelling errors, and semantic errors, which indicates that these errors are clearly widespread among female students. The reasons for these errors are due to several factors, including the difficulty in distinguishing between certain sounds during pronunciation, and the excessive reliance on translation in writing, which leads to the formation of incorrect sentences in the Arabic language. The lack of desire of some students to improve their language after entering university has also contributed to the persistence of these errors. To address these errors, this research suggests training students on correct pronunciation according to the rules of the language, encouraging them to stay away from translation when writing, and practicing writing continuously to improve style and strengthen language skills.
