Abstract

Reading is considered one of the essential skills in human life for acquiring correct information, and this skill is achieved through mastering language rules, especially for those who read books in Arabic. Successful grammar instruction is a fundamental pillar in enabling students to properly understand Arabic grammar. This research aims to examine the impact of grammar instruction on improving the reading skills of third-semester female students at STIBA Ar Raayah. This study is quantitative research, a systematic investigation based on statistical methods. The researcher used a field research approach with an inductive descriptive method. The researcher used (Ms. Excel Data Analysis feature) and (SPSS 24.0) for data analysis. The results of the regression equation on the effect of grammar instruction on enhancing reading skills showed the result y = 9,80 + 0,50x, indicating a positive influence of grammar instruction on improving reading skills. The correlation coefficient (R²= 0,214 or 21,4%) suggests a direct relationship between the two variables. Additionally, the determination coefficient (r= 0,463) revealed that grammar instruction contributes only 21,4% to improving reading skills, while the remaining percentage (78,6%) is attributed to other factors not mentioned in this research.
