Abstract

The teaching of Arabic grammar (Nahwu) presents a common challenge for students in Islamic educational institutions due to its theoretical complexity and the difficulty of applying its rules (Keagamaan MAN, Zahroh Firdausiyah, and Wijaya, 2023b). Previous studies have shown that many students struggle to understand the basic concepts of Nahwu, which negatively impacts their comprehension and motivation to learn (Sidik and Muassomah, 2021). This study aims to explore the effectiveness of using the MindMeister application as an instructional tool to simplify abstract Nahwu concepts and enhance students’ understanding. A descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method was used in this research. Data were collected through direct observation of Nahwu lessons incorporating the MindMeister application, as well as a literature review of relevant scientific journals. The findings revealed that using MindMeister helps students visually grasp sentence structures and grammatical rules, thereby increasing their engagement and comprehension. The application also promotes visual thinking, organizes grammatical information, and facilitates the connection of linguistic concepts. The study concludes that integrating technology through the MindMeister application can be an effective solution to overcome the difficulties of learning Nahwu in Islamic boarding schools. It also recommends the use of modern visual media in language instruction to enhance comprehension skills and foster active learning among students.
