The Interrogative Style in the Noble Qur'an and Its Use in Teaching Arabic to Non-Native Speakers (A Case Study from al-Baydawi’s Tafsir, Volume 24) أسلوب الاستفهام في القرآن الكريم والاستفادة منه في تعليم اللغة العربية لغير الناطقين به (كتاب تفسير البيضاوي الجزء الرابع والعشرون نموذجا)

Abstract
This study explores the rhetorical use of interrogative style (istifhām) in the Qur'an, focusing on the 24th part (juz) as interpreted in the renowned exegetical work Tafsir al-Baydawi, with an emphasis on its application in teaching Arabic to non-native speakers. The choice of this topic stems from the challenges faced by non-Arab learners in understanding rhetorical expressions, particularly interrogative forms. Learners often confuse istifhām with other styles such as exclamation, denial, or negation, which hinders their proper understanding of texts. Therefore, this study highlights the need to clearly present and explain this style to facilitate effective teaching and comprehension. The objective of this research is to identify the figurative interrogative expressions in the selected part of the Qur'an and to demonstrate how they can be utilized in Arabic language instruction for non-native speakers. Tafsir al-Baydawi was selected for its notable rhetorical depth and scholarly reputation in Qur'anic exegesis. The researcher employed a qualitative descriptive-analytical method, gathering data from various sources and analyzing it using the Miles and Huberman model. The study identified 36 instances of figurative interrogation across nine rhetorical types, including denial, negation, exclamation, and rebuke. The research concludes that integrating these rhetorical styles into Arabic instruction can significantly enhance learners' linguistic and communicative competence, especially through communicative activities and interactive exercises based on Qur'anic texts.
