Abstract

This study aims to compare the methodology of the Arabic language textbook "Arabic Between Our Children's Hands" with that of the Ministry of Religious Affairs' Arabic language textbook, both focusing on the fourth part of Arabic language elements. The researcher employed a descriptive-analytical qualitative method based on the approach of Miles and Huberman. The results show that the two textbooks' methodologies are similar in terms of objectives; both aim to teach Arabic language elements and utilize similar teaching methods. Both textbooks employ concise symbols, and both utilize audiotapes as a teaching tool for sounds, vocabulary, and structures .However, differences exist in content. "Arabic Between Our Children's Hands," part four, contains eight units, each with five lessons. These lessons include: a dialogue and its vocabulary (lesson 1), vocabulary exercises (lesson 2), sentence structures and exercises (lesson 3), sound instruction and listening exercises (lesson 4), reading and writing instruction and exercises (lesson 5), and an activity (lesson 6). It includes 105 basic vocabulary words. Assessment in this textbook involves unit-end reviews with activities and language games, and a general review after every four units ("Do you remember?")The Ministry of Religious Affairs' textbook, part four, contains six lessons, each with four activities. These activities include: a dialogue (activity 1), new vocabulary and exercises (activity 2), listening and reading skill instruction (activity 3), and sentence structure instruction and exercises (activity 4). It includes 67 basic vocabulary words. Assessment in this textbook is located at the end of every three lessons and consists of multiple-choice and essay questions.
