Abstract
The strategy of teaching interrogative tools aims to encourage interaction between students and teachers, which in turn strengthens the development of students’ speaking skills. The researcher observed that Pondok Pesantren Sukahideng has a specific strategy for developing students’ speaking skills at the second grade level of Marhalah Al Muthawasithah, namely the strategy of teaching interrogative tools, which plays a significant role in enhancing speaking skills. This prompted the researcher to explore this strategy as implemented at the second grade level of Marhalah Al Muthawasithah at Pondok Pesantren Sukahideng, Tasikmalaya. The purpose of this study is to understand the strategy of teaching interrogative tools and its role in developing the speaking skills of students at the second grade level of Marhalah Al Muthawasithah at Pondok Pesantren Sukahideng, Tasikmalaya. This research uses a qualitative approach, with data collected through questionnaires, direct interviews, and observations. The findings show that the strategy of teaching interrogative tools is carried out through introducing and explaining the purpose of interrogative tools, clarifying their usage, and providing training and practice. This strategy is implemented for students at the second grade level of Marhalah Al Muthawasithah and has proven effective in developing their speaking skills at Pondok Pesantren Sukahideng, Tasikmalaya.
