Abstract

The method of teaching Arabic to non-native speakers is one of the approaches that has been utilized and designed to assist teachers in effectively imparting linguistic knowledge and skills to students, in order to achieve the desired objectives of the educational process. This study aims to examine the methods of teaching Arabic and its impact on the development of speaking skills among female students at the Ma’had Huffadz At-Tartil Nagrak, Sukabumi. The research was conducted due to the significance of teaching methods in enhancing Arabic speaking skills. To achieve this objective, the researcher employed a descriptive quantitative approach, utilizing data collection techniques such as questionnaires, observation, and interviews. The findings of the study indicate that the Arabic teaching method applied to the female students at the at the Ma’had Huffadz At-Tartil in Nagrak is the eclectic method, in which teachers select teaching strategies that suit the students' conditions. The Arabic learning process at this institution involves three main components: planning, implementation, and evaluation. Regression analysis results reveal that the Arabic teaching method has a positive effect on the development of the students' speaking skills. This is evidenced by a moderate relationship between variable X and variable Y, as indicated by the correlation coefficient (Multiple R) value of 0.544. The R Square value of 0.295 indicates that the Arabic teaching method (variable X) contributes 29.5% to the development of speaking skills (variable Y), while the remaining percentage is influenced by other factors. Furthermore, the ANOVA test results support this finding by confirming a significant effect of variable X on variable Y, as shown by the calculated F value of 28.583 and a significance level of 0.00 < 0.05. Therefore, the researcher concludes that there is an influence between the two variables.
