Abstract
This research aims to identify the common vocabulary in the modern era as found in the Al-Munawwir dictionary, with a specific focus on analyzing common vocabulary beginning with the letter "ṭā" as a case study. The selection of this topic was based on the desire to uncover the common modern vocabulary in the Al-Munawwir dictionary (using "ṭā" as an example) in light of the book "A List of Common Vocabulary in the Arabic Language." The research employed a descriptive-analytical method using a qualitative approach to examine the contents of Al-Munawwir dictionary and compare them with the book "A List of Common Vocabulary in the Arabic Language" from the pre-Islamic era to the modern era. The research results show that the common vocabulary in the modern era in Al-Munawwir dictionary (using "ṭā" as an example), in light of the book "A List of Common Vocabulary in the Arabic Language," consists of 81 common words, including: ṭāqah, ṭaqs, ṭulūʿ, ṭabkh, ṭibb, ṭalaq, ṭanīn, ṭahārah, ṭahy, and others. This research concludes that the Al-Munawwir dictionary represents an important resource for understanding the development of the modern Arabic lexicon, but it requires updating and systematic identification of common vocabulary to keep pace with the continuous changes in language use.
