Abstract

The language reinforcement activity focuses on speaking skills and significantly contributes to enhancing students’ linguistic interaction abilities. This study aims to determine the effect of language reinforcement activities on the development of speaking skills among preparatory program students at Ar-Rayah University. The research follows a quantitative approach using a correlational method. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and the distribution of questionnaires. Data analysis was conducted using Microsoft Excel 2021. The results indicate that language reinforcement activities have an influence on speaking skill development, with a correlation value of 0.797, which shows a strong relationship between language reinforcement activities and speaking skills. The impact of these activities on speaking skill development is 0.629, while the remaining 37.1% is influenced by other factors such as environmental and external influences. Based on the t-test results, language reinforcement activities have a positive impact on speaking skill development. The calculated t-value is 4.3780, which is greater than the critical t-value of 1.9983, indicating the rejection of the null hypothesis (H0) and the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (Ha). This means that language reinforcement activities have a significant effect on the development of speaking skills. The study concludes that language reinforcement activities are an effective means of enhancing speaking skills among preparatory program students.
