Abstract

Education plays a significant role in enhancing students’ academic achievement. To ensure the success of the learning process, teachers must choose an appropriate teaching method for each subject. The method of instruction is one of the key factors in improving the quality of education and achieving its objectives. Various teaching methods are applied in universities, one of which is direct instruction. This method is implemented in teaching the subject of ṣarf (morphology) to fifth-semester students in the Arabic Language Education Department at STIBA Ar-Rayah, Indonesia. This study aims to determine the extent of the influence of direct instruction on students’ understanding of ṣarf. The research adopts a descriptive-analytical method, with data collected through interviews and questionnaires distributed to a sample from the study population. The data were analyzed using percentage techniques to obtain accurate results. The findings indicate that direct instruction has a significant impact on students’ understanding of ṣarf, with a percentage average of 84.68%.
